Book Tour and Giveaway!

I'm super excited to tell you about this new book, Sewing for Boys. It's written by Shelly Figueroa (Patterns by Figgy's) and Karen LePage (One Girl Circus)

I got to meet Shelly from Patterns by Figgy's at Quilt Market back in May. I loved their patterns and their booth was super cute. She told me about this new book coming out and I got super excited about it. Heaven knows the market for girl patterns is heavily saturated. But it's hard to find great books and patterns that are strictly for boys.

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy to review - and I get to give away a copy to one of you! August was really hot and busy and I hardly sewed at all. I had grand plans for September. I thought, hey the kids will be in school and it will cool down and I'll find all sorts of time and motivation. Ha! Not so much. It turns out that having 2/3 of my kids in school for just 3 hours/day amounts to about ONE hour/day to do something (if I'm lucky and Simon naps)!

Are you following me?
Please tell me I'm not the only one who is still trying to get my life back in order after summertime?!

There are 24 great patterns in this book - shirts, pants, pajamas, hats, play things, etc. It's awesome! Shelly and Karen have done a great job with it.

I have grand plans to make some clothes for Simon. Maybe some matching pants for Max if he'll agree to it (he's at that age, ya know).

Please forgive my awful pictures ... I have a lame camera and I never do anything during the day when children are awake. You understand, right?

If you'd like to win your own copy of this great book.... please leave a comment on this post. Winner will be announced on Monday, Sept 19th.
And if you're not following my blog already, I'd love it if you would. But you don't have to. :)

Check out all the other great bloggers who are writing about this book (full list is in my last post).
Thanks to Patterns by Figgy's and Wiley Craft for sponsoring this giveaway!

Yep, I'm getting used to my time being 'stolen' by my boy (5 months) and doesn't it make sewing time seem all that bit more precious!?!?
I'd love a copy of this book to create some things for Harvey.
I hope you get some sewing done soon.

My 2 boys go back to school/Nursery tomorrow, but I am job hunting so have lots of application forms and my CV to do as well as sort out all of the boys clothes as they both seem to have had a growth spurt - would be great to include some Mummy-made clothes to their winter wardrobes!

I'm sure the book is fabulous but I'm also sure if it came to my house it would sit in my "Projects I'd really love to do but simply can't find the time to" pile. It's huge. :) Hope you can find some minutes to do something with it. Looks fun!

I think half days are almost harder than anything else! There's really not enough time to really get into anything because suddeny it's time to go get someone! Good luck getting into a routine....still working on that here too.

I would love to win this book. My son is really wanting me to make him some stuff...I think he's a little jealous of his sisters who both get things made for them because girls are so much easier to sew for. My son will be 8 soon and I haven't found a whole lot of projects that are appropriate for an older boy. Thanks for the chance to win :)

I want this book so bad!!! I've entered on every stop of the book tour so far. I have a very large toddler and I love the range of sizes in this book. If you don't pick me, please, at least pick someone that actually has a little boy to sew for... I've been seeing a lot of entries saying that they'd love this book to sew for their little girl. That's great and all, but come on, we moms (or whatever) of boys are so much more deprived of cute patterns.

Oh gosh, I remember when I had the daycare and kids in kindergarten. I felt like I was always in the car going back and forth picking them up or taking them to school or getting the older kids from school. I can totally sympathize with you about the lack of time even though the kids are in school now. LOL It gets better; really.

Love the fabric you have for those pants. Cute stuff.

I am now following your blog also.
