I joined the fun, too. It's easy to look like a pirate w/ a head scarf and heavy eye makeup. Wish you could see my big belly better in this pic, but believe me -- it's there! The result of too much pirate booty. Ha!
Max was proud of his facial hair. We had to scrub like crazy to get that off. I could still see it a little @ church on Sunday!
Ruby said "I'm not going to steal anyone's candy because I'm a nice pirate."
Max was saying, "arghhh"
The best part of it all?
The costumes cost me a grand total of $10.
Originally I bought some costumes for $14 each, but I didn't like them so I took them back and challenged myself to make both costumes for under $28 total. I used some fabric I already had, bought a few extra things, borrowed Ruby's boots & necklace, found a plain black tee for $3 and added the applique, and used David's old white shirt to make Ruby's dress. Easy! Next time you need a cheap costume, pirates are the way to go.
