what's normal anyway?

Is it normal that I want everything on

My heart starts racing when I see stuff like this:

And could this fabric be any more perfect for me?
buttons!! red buttons!
(thanks to the dear reader who recently linked me to this fabric!)

(Deep breaths, Sara ..... deep breaths. in ... out....)

*whew*

I'm not sure what the illness is called (polka dot fever? dot-itis? polka pox? ha!) but I'm most certain there is no cure. The only thing I've found that helps is to just embrace it and consume

The other night, I gathered up all my polka dot fabrics just to see how many I had. I counted almost 50. That's just from my stash, people!
time stamp on this photo is 1:18 a.m. which confirms that i am indeed sick.
So, um .... I did what any normal person would do.
And I started cutting squares. Six inch squares for my next quilt.
I only stayed up til 2 a.m. that night. *yawn*

I finished cutting them all last night!

i am certifiably crazy, right?
i'm excited to start piecing them together!

***linking to fabric tuesday at quiltstory
(and i get to hang out w/ these girls today this week!)
see the cute button on my sidebar too.

p.s. i have to share this funny little story.

Ruby's new thing is to play "salon"  ... it's really just a way i've tricked her into brushing my hair cuz i love it.

so yesterday we were playing "salon" and I asked her what her name was. She said "Anna Marie." (that's the name of the girl at the mall who cuts our hair)

I said, "so anna marie ... do you have any kids?"
and anna marie said "um. ... yeah i have, like, seven or six ... or five."

I said, "oh you don't know how many kids you have?"
and she answered, "well yeah, i have eight."

then i said, "oh ok ... so what's your husband's name?"
she said, "well he died. he just got old and died."

oh my!

and:
vote in the sidebar poll if you haven't already. i was just curious! plus it's interesting to see how many are reading (but not commenting). you stinkers!!

The first thing I thought when I saw that stash of polka dots was "Quilt! That must become a quilt!" Glad we agree.

Oh...I think I may be coming down with polka pox too! I got some of the buttons (red and green), and I think they might even be cuter in person!

Anna Marie is hilarious. I loved your conversation.

I voted in the poll. I was holding off, just in case we had a chance meeting, like say, at your place of employment where I happened to wander in. But no such luck, so I had to vote in the 'no' category.

Also, I love polka dots too. Your next quilt is going to be so awesome!
