Here's the thing, my friends. I've been sewing only one thing lately.
And that thing is: hexagons!
I've just been so dang busy with everything (read: tired), it's all I want to do after the kids are in bed, to sit in my comfy chair and hand stitch my hexies. I have a big ol' stack of 3" squares cut and ready to be made. I am trying to have no repeats in the whole thing. The plan is to keep this up and eventually have it be a quilt big enough for my bed (queen size).
Don't hold me to it, though. Maybe it will end up a baby quilt - haha.
I'm posting this mainly so I have something for Fabric Tuesday.
And! It's February 21st ... which means, there is only one more week for No Fab Feb!
question:
In "honor" of No Fab Feb...
would anyone be interested in a scrap swap?
(even if you didn't join the challenge)
I am thinking something simple ... but a fun way to get a variety of fabric (I want mine for hexies, of course!)
p.s. Do you think Brad will pick Emily? I just hope it's not Ashley.

Love your hexies! I HAVE to try these, they're so cute :-) I'd love to take part in a scrap swap if people were willing to mail to me in Ireland.
I think a scrap swap sounds great. Can you make it simple? Like...don't make me cut anything! Can you do it by weight? But put stipulations on it (nothing bigger than/ or nothing smaller than/). I really don't want to have to cut up a bunch of fabric when it is scraps. Just my thought but I will if you insist. hehehe
BTW I will ship to Ireland...If she promises to be my friend LOL
Course I'll be your friend, I'm lovely, I am!! :-)
Thanks for your sweet comment today! I didn't know we were in the same city! So fun.
This quilt?? FABULOUS. Do you teach classes? Cause I'm dying to learn how to sew better.
These are beautiful. It sounds like the perfect "chair" project to me!
I love the variety! What a great way to use up your scraps before they even make it into the bin :)
I would love to swap scraps! It would be fun to have some from Ireland, so I sure would ship there. I am making a scrap/charm quilt using a small tumbler piece, so I would not need very large pieces either.
I love these hexies, they're so cute! I haven't tried them myself yet, but I can see how they'd be addictive. :)
I'm in for a scrap swap, sounds like fun. Great job on your hexies, can't wait to see how it turns out.
Sounds like a fabulous idea! I would be happy to swap scraps!
A queen size hexie quilt would be amazing! I work on my hexies sometimes, I have maybe 150, but I have no plan for them. It is nice to just quietly do a few now and then, but I mainly do them when we are driving on a longer trip.
Your hexies are so cute! They are so relaxing to make too...
Jennifer :)
These are so fabulous. A queen size quilt would be incredible!!
Cute! I have no idea how to do that, you hand sew them all? Sounds like a fun project to have going.
hey just wanted to tell you i saw a link to your blog over at honeybear lane! thought it was cool to see somebody i knew being linked on somebody elses blog:) it is official...you are famous!
Wow you are so ambitious! I wish I didn't hate handsewing so much, I always drool over the hexies. I would love to do a scrap swap, what size scraps are we talking? :-)
Love your hexies! I got stuff to do them the other day, tried them one night (well tried one) got tired and just watched my movie :) I scrap swap would be fabulous!
I've totally caught the hexie bug too! I keep thinking why did it take me so long to discover this sweet, portable, relaxing little craft? I just got home from craft night at church which I spent simply sewing hexies. all. night. long. It was divine:)
Love the hexies. I make them as well. It is relaxing to just sit and sew. I would so be interested in a swap. I cannot see me doing a charm quilt like you but would love new scrap fabric to make more 1/2 and 1 inch flowers.
I would love to do a fabric swap! I have always wanted to try making hexagons!
Your hexies are sweet, colorful, and you're definitely on your way to a "charm"ing quilt, if you don't repeat anything. That's not easy if it's bigger than a lap-sized quilt. I've tried twice, crashed and burned both times.
I don't think I've ever properly thanked you for the "No Fab Feb" idea and button. I've been strong. I've bought no fabric now since Jan 1, 2011, and I hyperventilate just typing that. I've come close to faltering, but the button has been a bold reminder to stick to my vow.
THANK YOU! I hope you have a button for more months. I'll gladly put them on my blog.
What a fun bunch of hexies! You're doing a really amazing job!
I would love to swap for some of your polka-dot scraps. I'm specifically in the market for polka-dots LMK what you come up with.
