The eternal hexagon project

phone pic

I pulled out my hand-pieced hexagons again over the weekend. I have so many WIP's (works in progress) that I'm not even sure what the count is.

I think it had been at least a year (probably more) since I even looked at them! I got so busy with other things like, oh, having a baby. I started this project two years ago! Plus I am usually working on SewSara orders, so it's hard to justify sitting down to work on them. Since we were wathching LDS General Conference over the weekend, it was the perfect time to work on something like this.

This is the plan for all the hexagons:

Rather than make them into one big piece, I'm finding it more manageable to cut them into 12" squares. I will put white sashing between the squares. I was planning on doing a queen size quilt for my bed, but I made THIS ONE before Greta was born. So I am thinking now to do a large throw size that would be kept on the couch or whatever.

What did you work on over the weekend? Did you blog about it? I wanna see!

hexagon kits in the shop!! (and a winner)

I am a day late (and always a dollar short). But I have a good reason.
Around midnight last night, I was going to post the winner. Then Ruby's tummy got angry at her... and she (and her bed) was covered in throw up. So sad. I hate it when I have to run a bath in the middle of the night. Mostly because I remember how miserable it felt as a kid to be the one tossed into the tub. Poor Ruby. :(

But I do have a winner ....
Congratulations to Lindsay (a first-time commenter -- welcome!), the winner of the SewSara hexagon starter kit!
Please email me with your address! Hope you love it!

Did you want to win, but didn't?
Well you are in luck!

I decided to sell some hexagon starter kits in my shop!

You can even purchase just the fabric squares. You could use them for anything, really! Think of how cute a simple quilt would be, made from all the different squares. I have done my best not to put in any duplicates!

Happy Hexing!

p.s. go check out this awesome giveaway, too.
